pincinella \'pinch·ē·nĕla\ n
1 slang: a term of endearment used by an Italian grandfather to describe his "precious little one".

About three years ago I knew nothing about babies except for the experience I encountered 23 years ago when my baby sister was born. I was ten then and although my mother insists I had only changed one diaper- I remember  it to be a absurdly unforgettable experience.  While my childhood friends would ponder about marriage and babies and how they anticipated theyears to come- I usually remained with no comment......

Until 3 years ago when my little bundle of joy took presidence over everything else in the world. Gratitude to my husband who has taken it fairly well.  I was promoted from NYC graphic designer to stay at home mom.   I can admit that you can never really appreciate the wonderment of motherhood until you actually experience it yourself.  all of it.... from  the absolutely euphoric phenomenon  to the gross absurdity of it all.

Before our daughter  was born, I read and read and read everything I could to make sure my baby had everything in creation to experience an enriched first few months of life.  I tend to be a semi-perfectionist;  which means that when it comes to things that mattermost they must be perfectly detailed. But when it comes to the arrangement of refrigerated items- I lack the heart.  Well,
needless to say I purchased many, many baby items, needing to have it all.  Some items proved to be totally unnecessary while some have become staple in our home.  I had become obsessed- as my small 2 bedroom apartment was overstuffed with baby things.  I was very particular about shoes, skin care and baby development toys.  I  had to experiment with many skin products because of course my daughter  was born with her father's sensitive skin and had allergic rashes from many "baby" products. I was intimidated  with the amount of developmental toys out there- and for some reason as a new mother you just think - if my child does not have this toy - they are not going to develop properly!?? Please understand now if you are reading this that this idea  is very silly - along with the other silly ideas every new mother concocts in her brain.  Listen to me; the time you spend with your child is much more instumental than the toy you choose to enhance their experience with.

So since we have a few  years experience under our belts and tried so many things, we thought that other new moms would benefit from our tried and true knowledge. Real people, real babies, real life. We don't sell any products here we don't use ourselves. We thought it would be helpful to find all your needs in one place.  Our slogan is "..these are a few of our favorite things"..yes-- we invite you to hum the tune as you browse our store.

We have enjoyed our baby experience so much that we would love to help you through  your intense, wonderfully challenging and memorable time.

If you have any questions, comments, complaints or ideas for our website or about our product line or just want to chat about your baby or kids, feel free to contact us. We would be more that happy to share our experiences with you and hear about yours.....

Thanks for reading about us! My sister informed me that no one ever reads that page.....but I am glad you got the chance to stop by.
Toodles!

**Update**
Ok. Ok. So maybe people *do* read the about me page! It has been 5 years since the Grand Opening of pincinella.com. The original pincinella has "passed on the torch", so to speak, to me, her wise and much much prettier younger sister! (I wonder if this will even make it to the published page). In the series of "pincinallas" I would be number 2.  Jennifer is still very much involved, though taking somewhat ofbackseat as her daughter is now 6 years old and she is on to more exciting ventures. Sohere I am, with a young pincinell-o of my own. Thats right! I'm the new mom on the block with a few of my own favorite things to share!

I do have a love for many of my sister's and hopefully your favorite things and thereforethey will remain here on pincinella.com. One of the more exciting additions to our site will be a collection of cloth diapers. I have been cloth diapering my son since about 3
months old and it has become sort of an obsession. I have tried *numerous* brands and styles and would love to share a few of my favorites with you! Check back with us often as we will be adding new products regularly!

I hope to provide you with the same stellar customer service as my counterpart. After all perfectionism runs in the family!

Warmly,
Francesca Caputo
